Project Title: St. Laurence O’Toole School, Dublin City Centre
Value: €7.00 million
Dates: April 2022
Brief Description: The project entailed the refurbishment, upgrade and restoration of this listed building in a restricted city centre location. As part of the works requirements we constructed a 10nr classroom temporary accommodation to cater for the school during the construction period. We then moved into the existing building stripping out all redundant internal finishes including partitions, timber frames, M&E installation, doors, ceilings and windows.
These were all replaced with modern day environmentally friendly sustainable installations. On the exterior of the building we removed the cast iron railings and carried out full restoration to original condition. The upgraded building was insulated to achieve an A2 BER rating.
The capacity of the building was increased by 150m2 with the addition of a new carefully blended extension. Once works were completed an air test was conducted to prove the buildings environmental credentials.
All work were carried out in a live operational environment. The building was finally handed over on time and within budget and to the satisfaction of the client.
