Brief Description: The construction of a new energy efficient two storey 44 bed nursing home using traditional construction techniques including blockwork, reinforced concrete frame, precast floor slabs and stairs and a prefabricated truss roof with slate finish.

The buildings main energy is provided using environmentally friendly efficient heat pumps.

Before handover the air tightness of the building was tested to prove its BER rating of A2.

Double glazed argon filled aluminium windows were used throughout and all cavities were filled with insulation to achieve the specified U value of 0.18 W/m2K

To guarantee a Total Quality Management final building weekly integrated HSEQ audits were undertaken throughout the contract duration.
