Environmental Policy

Ganson Building and Civil Engineering Ltd. is fully committed to undertaking our work in a responsible manner that achieves and maintains the highest sustainable environmentally friendly standards. We appreciate the importance of the environment and are aware of our responsibilities.

We are proud that our work is delivering projects that improve the environment.

We recognise that we need to continuously monitor and improve our environmental performance. Our management and improvement plan is structured around and aligned with ISO-14001. We have recently started the journey towards ISO-50001 certification. 

We are aware that certain aspects of our activities could impact the environment and have therefore adapted, implemented and annually review our environmental and sustainability policy as follows:

• All our sites are supported by waste and environmental management plans
• Our most recent buildings achieved NZEB standards and A2 BER rating.
• We are committed to compliance with all applicable legal requirements.
• Ganson Building & Civil Engineering Ltd. will constantly assess our activities to minimise impacts from significant environmental aspects including waste, releases to air and water, contamination of land,  carbon emissions, noise, dust, vibration, archaeology and wildlife preservation.
• Improvement plans will be set and reviewed annually and objectives and targets designed to ensure continual improvement in our environmental performance and prevention of pollution.
• Will assess all areas of operations concerning their impact on the environment and incorporate these practicable procedures and controls necessary to prevent environmental damage and pollution.

We continually strive to improve standards throughout our area of operations by communicating our policy to all persons working for or on behalf of the company and by enhancing environmental awareness and commitment through structured training and education. All our employees engage in a minimum of 35 hours of CPD training annually. Most of this training is concentrated on the subjects of HSEQ.
