Energy Policy

Ganson Building and Civil Engineering Ltd. are fully committed to improving the energy and carbon performance of our offices, plant, fleet and sites by creating a culture of continuous improvement and setting targets, through monitoring, training and effective communication. 

Our Energy Policy was designed and implemented in line with the requirements of ISO-50001:2018.

Our long and medium-term energy-saving goals are as follows: 

  • Create a company-wide Energy Champion
  • Continual improvement in energy performance in accordance with ISO-50001. 
  • Appraise energy efficiency investments in new technologies. 
  • Reduce our Carbon Footprint. 
  • Procure renewable energy sources. 

Our short-term objectives are: 

  • Agree on energy-saving annual targets. 
  • Monitor energy usage through accurate weekly consumption data. 
  • Communicate the energy used and improvement measures to all staff every week. 
  • Comply with all legislation, standards and best-recommended practices relating to energy use at both a company and individual level. 
  • Provide support and competent resources to ensure our operations are managed in a manner that demonstrates both good professional practice and our commitment to this energy policy. 
  • Support, along with our supply chain and procurement policy, the purchase of sustainable products and services and design for energy performance improvement 
  • Consider a life cycle perspective when assessing capital and operational costs of energy efficiency new technologies. 
  • Provide regular management reports on consumption. 
  • Audit to ensure that personnel are familiar with and fully understand the Energy Management System (EnMS). 

Accordingly, we require all employees to be familiar with the EnMS and behave in a manner that is compatible with our objectives. In addition, by committing to the above, there is an associated benefit in reducing our carbon footprint.  This policy shall be reviewed on an annual basis and as and when necessary to reflect changes in relevant legislation and recommended best practices.
